Project Description

Rock climbing is a part of my life. I enjoy combining elements of my outdoor sports lifestyle in my photography work. In this project I explored the vast genre of the Still Life with special interest in its relationship to the juxtaposition of objects, their symbolism, and how meaning is constructed within the image.

This series of images explores the lifestyle of rock climbing, the pre-occupation of being a gear junky, and the potential for putting yourself in harms way by participation in the sport. To complete this project I had to make use of lighting and direction, camera angles, and image background considerations.
